On 22nd July,2025 all the Chairman of District Cooperative Milk Unions of Gujarat assembled at Anand to vote for new Chairman and Vice Chairman of GCMMF (Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation), which owns the brand name AMUL which is now known worldwide.
The elections were conducted unanimously and elected Ashok Chaudhary and Gordhan Dhameliya as a new Chairman and Vice Chairman Of GCMMF. Ashok Chaudhary is currently a chairman of Dudhsagar Dairy which belongs to Mehsana district having total turn over of around Rs 7494 cr having broad base of more than 10 lakh farmers across various states of country. Gordhan Dhameliya is also currently a chairman of Rajkot District Cooperative Milk Producer Union Ltd having turnover of around Rs 845 crores.
Ashok is going to replace Shamal Patel who was handling the affairs of GCMMF since 2020 and Gordhan is going to replace the current chairman of Kutch district dairy. The tenure of both the leader is to going to be around 2.5 years.
The elections were conducted under the presence of Chairman of Banas Dairy, Shankarbhai Chaudhary who is also the speaker of legislative assembly of Gujarat and is on the position of chairman from past 12 years. Banas Dairy is the Asia’s biggest dairy procuring on average 78 lakh ltrs of milk daily and has a turnover of around 21,500 crore last fiscal.
