Public sector Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore limited (FACT) has witnessed an increase in sales of fertilizer because of early South-West monsoon which is reflected in their sales data.
1st Qtr this fiscal has witnessed sales of 1.79 lakh tonnes of NPK as compared to 1.41 lt last year in the same period while ammonium sulphate has witnessed sales of 45,320 tonnes against 40027 in the same period last year
But due to the geopolitical tensions prices of raw materials has increased causing hinderance in the production of fertilizers. It has leads to increase in freight cost prices has been increased by $100 for phosphoric acids while other raw materials like rock phosphate, phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid and sulphur are also following the same problem.
Despite these tensions organization is working hard to meet the demands of the farmers, so that their yield is not affected
