What is E10 Shinkansen model?
It is the latest Japanese rail technology which has advanced safety features, efficiently utilizing the energy and more comfortable than previous models like E2 and E5 which is developed by the East Japan Railway Company (J R East). Bullen train with this model can reach upto speed of 400 km/h which was earlier restricted till 320 km/h.
Commercialization of bullet train in India with this model by 2030
India was constantly negotiating with Japan to introduce latest models in the country which after the long wait has been agreed between both the countries that older E5 will be in trial order in India but commercialization will be of E10 models
Japan itself is going to replace all the older models with E10 model. Both the countries will launch these models together. It also showcases the commitment of Japan to infrastructure modern drive of India.
By early 2026 India will receive two train sets so that trains can be modified according to Indian conditions like India has high temperature and dust.
Progress till now in
India has witnessed the completion of 21 km tunnel between Ghansoli and Shilphata in Maharashtra, which is India’s first bullet line train and the project is of worth rupees 1.1 lakh crore.
