ISMA in partnership with ADT will deploy AI and ML programme nationwide
ISMA is going to launch AI and ML programme nationwide in association with ADT ( Agriculture Development Trust) based out of Baramati, Maharashtra which aims to increase the production, quality and farmer income particularly cane growers.It is also going to increase the sugar recovery along with increasing farmer income.
Advantages
With the help of this technique, labour cost will be reduced by 35%, water usage will also be lowered by 30% thus cutting down the production cost and increasing the productivity by 40%
Apart from it will also have an impact in sustainability by reducing the green house gas emissions.
ADT has done collaboration with Oxford University and Microsoft for a project which helps in providing AI driven solutions to farmers and till now 1000 farmers have been empowered with such techniques helping them to improve their yield and farming practices.
MOU has been signed between ISMA, ADT and MMC (Make my crop) which is an agri-tech company ,MoU aims to boost sugarcane yield to 100 Tonnes per hectare and achieve 11% sugar recovery
It can be implemented on the large scale by doing proper field demonstrations and initiating capacity building sessions which are already planned by the authority.
