Starlink can provide access to only 20 lakh connections in India
Govt. cleared that Starlink can only provide 20 lakh satcoms (satellite connections) in India and upto 200 mbps speed due to its existing capacity thus providing relief to terrestrial telecom services regarding threat to starlink.
Starlink
Starlink can provide 600 gbps throughput with 4,408 satellites in the orbit of around 540-570 km in India. Cost for providing the service is going to be high which the companies like BSNL etc are planning to target across rural and remote areas.
Starlink has become the third company in India receiving nod to provide satellite service after Eutelsat’s OneWeb and Reliance Jio.
Roll on services
After the spectrum is allotted to all three companies satcom services can be rolled on which is going to take around three months from now onwards, after that it depends on the companies when they want to provide the service focusing on improving the quality and maintaining customer relationship
